A group of my friends and I are making co-ordinating costumes to go to the Renaissance Faire this year.  Mine isn't completely done yet but it's at least at a point where I can put it on to see how it looks so far.

For anyone out there who is keeping up with it, the newest episode (#2) of Kiran's Plastic!Character Theater has been posted here on When Darkness Falls.

If you like what you see, there are other episodes here and we'd love to know which stories you'd all like to see continued!  [info]slaysvamps  is currently working on the next episode of Plastic!Descent and she's kicking butt when it comes to set and props!  I think that my next episode be what happens next in Plastic!Reclaiming.

Also, there is a ton of fiction on When Darkness Falls that all the Plastic!Character Theater comes from so feel free to check it out.  There are warnings for those stories that may not be suitable for readers under 18 so be aware of that!  And let us know what you think of our stuff!!!

As always, many thanks to [info]anteka  for be the inspiration to this wonder insanity we've found ourselves in!

First of all, let me preface this entry by saying that I'm a Trekker from WAY back!!!  So much so that I have a tattoo of the Enterprise NCC 1701-D (see below) and have been a member of not one, but two different fan organizations devoted to public service in the memory of what Gene Roddenbury created with the series.

There will be some spoilers from here on out so be warned!!! )

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am really invovled with the Owosso Community Players.  Our most recent production was the Wizard of Oz and I was lucky enough to have the role of the Wicked Witch!

Here's the Tin Man, Lion, Scarecrow and Dorothy... loved them!  More pictures under the cut...

I have just watched one of the most amazing things that I have ever had the privilege to witness.  Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States.  Change has come to Washington and I hope with all my heart that the new President gets the co-operation necessary to make his plans come to fruition.

I stood in the break room at work with my boss, the owner of the company I work for who is a very staunch Republican, and watched the events unfold.  During the campaign he supported John McCain just as vehemently as I supported President Obama, but there was a respect that hung in the air from both of us as the President started to speak.  The feeling was amazing and pure and just a little liberating to experience.  My company has been pretty hard hit from the recent economic struggles in the country and I know that my boss has make some tough decisions as well as some personal sacrifices in order to keep the company going.  I felt that I connected with him a little in the last hour and that’s kind of astonishing.

President Obama spoke with such eloquence.  It’s all kind of a blur right now so I don’t remember any of the specifics other than it was very patriotic and inspiring.  I think that it is a speech that I would love to have a copy of so reread through the years, it was that good!

I just wanted to get down some thoughts on my impressions so I wouldn’t bore you long.  I want all my friends and family to know how amazing it was and how hopeful I am for the future of the country.  May the United States always have a bright future!

For those of you out there who don't know this, I am a design engineer for mostly theater seat covers.  Basically, it's my job to create the covers on many of the chairs that you sit on when you go to the movie theater.  The company that I work for deals with quite a few of the bigger companies in the industry and right now there are really big trade shows on both sides of the country they are all prepping for.  That means that my schedule is crazy right now because of the multiple costumers all wanting new versions of seats that look flashy and cool for the show.

WARNING: the following many sound whiney but I had to get it off my chest... )

In keeping with my earlier post from today I thought I'd put the first chapter from my novel 'Reclaiming'.

**Note: the people depicted in the graphics from my previous post are meant to help the reader better picture the characters within the story.

So it occurred to me today that it's been AGES since I last posted here and thought I'd better do something about it.  I'm taking a bit of a break from theater right now so I can get my battery recharge for when I audition for the Wizard of Oz in mid-November.  I'm the Lion in case anyone was wondering and now I have to convince the production team of that when I audition!  ;)

Anyhow... I've done a little playing around with Photoshop when I had a moment so I'll share them here. Most of it has to do with gaming stuff so if you're not familiar with what I'm talking about head on over to www.whendarknessfalls.net to figure it out...

As always enjoy... there's even one there that anteka will like if she's watching... ;)

For those of you were don't know this... I'll be spending my summer co-directing West Side Story for the Owosso Community Players.  We are in our second week of rehearsals and things are coming along really well.  I thought I'd try to post a video of one of the dances.   This is a first for me so let's see if I can figure it out...

Has anyone hear about Randy doing Antony and Cleopatra?  The article only mentions him so I don't know who he is playing.
